Aviation Cyber Threat Training

Course Code: 11-2-8-IE

Prerequisites: a good understanding of written and spoken English. 

Target Group : As per European Union regulations, any staff member who has access to critical data or systems that are deemed security-sensitive.

Training Language: English

Duration: 30 minutes

Final Test: The trainee must pass, with a grade of 85% or higher, a multiple choice test to successfully complete Cybersecurity Training. All trainees are given two attempts to pass the test.

Certification: The trainee receives his/her certificate as soon as he/she has successfully passed the final test.

Validity: 3 years.

Course Outline and Objectives

The aviation industry has become heavily reliant on critical systems and data, to the extent that loss or failure of these systems can result in a costly disruption to service or potentially a loss of approval or fine if the event was avoidable.

Certain staff members have access to this data and as such they should be aware of the importance that keeping this information secure, the methods that can be used to infiltrate and obtain access to systems and best practice for maintaining the integrity of the systems.

Target group: This is a Need to Know training and as such should only be completed by staff who require it for their role. This includes people working within the Aviation industry who have access to a company-sensitive data or access to important IT infrastructure as part of their role (Security Managers, Accountable Managers, I.T. staff (with access to sensitive information).

Course Objective: At the end of this course, you will understand the importance of Cybersecurity Awareness in Aviation, have an overview of the different standards and know how to choose the appropriate one for your own requirements, know how to deal with internal and external online and data security and to set up certification and assessment processes based on effective risk-management practices.
